The winter doldrums are notorious for hitting homeschool moms during the long winter days in January and February when spring seems so far away. A great way to combat the winter blues is with a subscription to Homeschooling Today magazine. Tonight, you can enter to win a 1-year subscription to Homeschooling Today - encouragement sent right to your mailbox four times a year! HST Logo Earlier this year, Homeschooling Today came full circle when Alex and Ashley (Strayer) Wiggers, homeschool graduates and owners of Paradigm Press LLC, became the new publishers of Homeschooling Today magazine. Homeschooling Today magazine provides information and encouragement from a Christian worldview. We take advantage of every “nicer” day – like today it was unseasonably warm, so we spent hours outside, even though it was muddy. The fresh air really helps!

Get together with friends. Be creative with the reasons to celebrate. !00th day of school party, Valentines party, Superbowl party, sledding party, etc. Our local conservation board has free classes during the winter months for things like ice fishing, and learning to fly tie. Also, we have nerf wars with friends! It gives us something to work for during the school days!

Have an all day reading marathon with lots of hot cocoa and popcorn! Get outside if the weather permits. If not, go on an indoor field trip of some kind. Do a unit study. :-)
